Chainsaw Man Movie Focusing On Reze Arc Announced

At the Jump Festa 2024 event, it was revealed during the Chainsaw Man stage that the series would be getting its first movie titled Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.

As the name suggests, the movie will adapt the Reze arc from the manga. A teaser trailer and poster for the film were also revealed, which you can view below:

Chainsaw Man manga creator Tatsuki Fujimoto discussed what fans can anticipate from Reze, mentioning that her relationship with Denji draws inspiration from Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. Fujimoto explained that the motif of Denji and Reze, where Reze is manipulated as a disposable entity, was influenced by the protagonist and heroine dynamics seen in the animated film Jin-Roh. Fujimoto urged fans to watch the movie to get the obvious references in Denji and Reze's story.

Jin-Roh is a 1999 anime film set in an authoritarian postwar Japan, envisioning a scenario where Nazi Germany emerged victorious in World War II and occupied Japan. The movie revolves around the relationship between a military soldier and the sister of a terrorist. You can watch Jin-Roh on Tubi TV in both sub and English dub.

The Chainsaw Man anime began on October 11, 2022 and is streaming on Ani-One Asia, Crunchyroll, and Netflix. Another announcement made at Jump Festa was the ending of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which you can read more about here.
